The client required a commercial solar drying solution capable of hygienically drying multiple medicinal plants with uniform moisture removal while preserving medicinal compounds, natural color, aroma, and export-grade quality. The objective was to reduce electricity consumption, eliminate open sun drying risks, minimize post-harvest losses, and improve profitability through value-added herbal processing.

Project Description

Rudra Solar Energy successfully designed and installed a Commercial Solar Dryer for Medicinal Plants in Maharashtra to support hygienic, energy-efficient, and sustainable drying of high-value medicinal herbs. The project was developed for processing Ashwagandha, Neem Leaves, Tulsi, Aloe Vera, Giloy, Brahmi, Saffron, Shatavari, Kalmegh, and other medicinal plants while preserving their natural color, aroma, active compounds, medicinal properties, and nutritional value. The commercial solar drying system was engineered with controlled airflow, optimized drying temperature, stainless steel food-grade trays, and renewable solar energy technology to reduce post-harvest losses, improve product quality, and increase the commercial value of medicinal herbs for Ayurvedic, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and herbal processing industries across Maharashtra.
