Project Description

Rudra Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. successfully delivered a Solar Drying Solution for a fish and copra processing cooperative in Lakshadweep. The project was developed to improve hygienic drying of fish, tuna, coconut, copra, seaweed, medicinal herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables, and other island-based agricultural and marine produce while replacing conventional open sun drying practices. Lakshadweep's island economy depends heavily on fisheries and coconut cultivation, where preserving harvested products efficiently is essential for reducing waste and increasing market value. The client required a dependable commercial solar drying system capable of producing hygienic, premium-quality dried fish and copra while protecting products from coastal humidity, salt-laden air, insects, dust, birds, and sudden weather changes that often affect traditional drying methods. Rudra Solar Energy designed, manufactured, and installed a customized Commercial Solar Drying Solution equipped with enclosed drying chambers, optimized airflow, controlled drying conditions, and advanced solar thermal technology. The system enables faster and more uniform drying while preserving the natural texture, flavour, colour, nutritional value, and shelf life of processed marine and coconut products. The project supports fisheries cooperatives, coconut growers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), MSMEs, seafood exporters, food processing industries, coastal entrepreneurs, SHGs, government-supported livelihood missions, and island communities seeking sustainable value addition through renewable-energy-based commercial solar drying technology.
